Project Brief

As part of Creative Aid, I served as a project manager within a team of six designers, developing design and marketing solutions for Arts Week, a university-wide event celebrating the College of the Arts.

Our team created a dynamic visual identity, producing eye-catching posters, custom-designed t-shirts, collectible stickers, engaging social media content, animated graphics, and a distinctive logo with multiple variations.

Each element was thoughtfully crafted to capture the essence of Arts Week, ensuring a cohesive and visually compelling campaign that resonated with both students and faculty.

Process

To lay the foundation for our project, we began by researching previous years of Arts Week, analyzing past designs, marketing strategies, and overall event engagement to understand what had already been implemented. Building on this, we conducted further research to evaluate the event’s strengths and weaknesses.

By distributing questionnaires to students, we gathered valuable feedback on what they had enjoyed and what they hoped to see improved. These insights directly shaped our design and marketing strategies, ensuring our work was both effective and engaging

Using the feedback from our research, we developed a mood board to establish the visual direction for the project. Drawing inspiration from early 2000s cartoons, we aimed to create a playful, vibrant, and colorful aesthetic that would capture the energy and excitement of Arts Week.

Logo Design

The final version of the logo we designed captures the playful, vibrant aesthetic of the event while incorporating elements that represent the university. The bold, rounded lettering with dynamic curves evokes the energy of early 2000s cartoons. To further reflect the school’s identity, we integrated details from their mascot, attaching an elephant ear to the side of the lettering and shaping the “S” into it's trunk, creating a fun and cohesive visual that connects both Arts Week and the university’s spirit.

Print Deliverables

For the print deliverables, we designed a range of materials to promote Arts Week and boost engagement. Along with posters displaying the event schedule, we created custom t-shirts and a series of collectible stickers featuring alternate versions of our logo mixed with illustrations that blended popular cartoon characters with the school's mascot, adding a fun and nostalgic touch.

Digital Deliverables

Our digital designs spanned multiple formats, ensuring a cohesive and engaging presence across campus and online. This included tailored visuals for two different television display sizes, dynamic Instagram posts and stories, and targeted email blasts. We developed a variety of unique assets, such as countdown posts, theme reveals, and the official logo announcement. To enhance engagement, we also created multiple animations, providing the client with flexible motion graphics that could be seamlessly integrated into their social media and promotional materials
